How Satellite Works:

 

  1. Students choose which Satellite course that they want to take. Students may take one or more semesters/courses at any time.


  2. Courses are paid for when they are ordered.  Courses cost $69 per ½ credit (semester), $138 per credit.  There is also a one-time $25 registration fee per student.


  3. Middle and high school students have the option to complete individual courses through Satellite OR an entire year of curriculum.


  4. If a high-school student chooses to complete the 20 required credits through Satellite, he/she will graduate with a fully-accredited diploma accepted by colleges and universities.  High school credit may be awarded for home school courses-please contact us for more information.


  5. If a student takes all 4 middle school courses for a grade level or completes 5.0 high school credits during a given year, that satisfies the educational requirements for most states, and parents do not have to log hours spent completing curriculum.


  6. Students complete the registration, proctor, and order forms and mail them back to Satellite. If at all possible, we prefer that test proctors be certified teachers or counselors.  Alternate testing arrangements are possible for homeschooling families-please contact us for details.


  7. Once Satellite receives your registration and order forms, course work will be post mailed to the student within 7 business days.  The course fee includes all reading material, assignments, and exams. Each course requires a combination of homework assignments and exams.


  8. Students complete the homework assignments at home at their own paces and mail them back to Satellite.  Students take their exams at our local center in Liberty, Missouri or with a test proctor in their area.  Exams are mailed to and from this test proctor.


  9. All homework assignments and exams are graded by Satellite and scores are returned to the student.
